A public Chinese culture class offering lessons on Chinese painting of chrysanthemums aimed at foreigners living in China, was recently held at the Shenzhen Hongshan International Service Center. In order to reach a wider audience, the class was live streamed, allowing the  audience to interact with the teacher.

During the class, the instructor introduced students to "Four Treasures of the Study" namely brush, ink, paper and ink stone, which represent China's unique calligraphy and painting tools. Demonstrations were given on how to mix the ink, and use unique strokes to depict flower petals and Chrysanthemum leaves.

The participants said that the Chinese Culture Class not only helped spread Chinese culture, but also brought cultural insight to the families of expats in China. More than 340 Chinese and foreigners from Pakistan, Belgium, Ghana, Canada, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, the United States, Bangladesh, Nigeria and India participated in the activity.
