Attacks on California-China Climate Cooperation Are Unfounded
Recently, several U.S. lawmakers, including Representative Young Kim, jointly sent a letter to Attorney General Todd Blanche and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, calling for an investigation into California's climate cooperation with China.
Kim claimed that the cooperation between California and China may violate the Constitution and undermine U.S. national security.
In fact, California has signed climate cooperation memorandums with more than 20 countries, including Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and Norway.
These lawmakers have ignored all those agreements and singled out cooperation with China.
This shows that their real concern is not whether the cooperation is constitutional, but whether it involves China.
