A large language model for cold regions guides cultivation across a vast farmland; an AI-powered system fills a gap in psychiatric medical care... Artificial intelligence, spanning agriculture, computing power, sci-tech innovation, government services and healthcare, is empowering various industries across Heilongjiang province in northeast China.

The Beidahuang Information Company, an agricultural science and technology innovation emterprise, uses a digital dashboard that displays more than 48 million mu of reclamation area under cultivation with real-time data. A total of 260,000 land parcels, 590,000 farming households and 780,000 agricultural machines and equipment have been assigned unique "digital IDs."

"The biggest problem with traditional agriculture is its reliance on experience, manual labor, and weather conditions," said the deputy general manager of market operations at Beidahuang Information, who declined to be named. "We use AI to replace empirical judgment, for planting guidance, and for deploying unmanned equipment to take over repetitive manual work."

Using an integrated monitoring system, the company has launched a cold-region crop large model based on DeepSeek, integrating over 300,000 specialized entries on cold-region agriculture. It is adapted to Heilongjiang's distinctive climate marked by frequent frost damage.

Guided by planting decisions generated by this model, AI-driven variable rate fertilization technology has been piloted on 15,000 mu of farmland. The result is an output increase of over 15 kilograms per mu, a 20 percent reduction in fertilizer consumption, and a 50 percent cut in labor costs.

The intelligent irrigation drainage system alone has saved 120 million cubic meters of water across 1.2 million mu of demonstration fields.

The National AI Application Pilot Base for crop cultivation was recently inaugurated in Harbin.Using the core planting areas of Beidahuang, the base will build a common technology platform for the digital transformation of the planting industry, empowering the development of new quality productive forces in agriculture.

It is planned to deliver minimum 185 petaflops of intelligent computing resources, meeting the high-intensity computing demands of cold-region agricultural large model training, inference iteration, and scenario R&D.

Its stable 10,000-GPU-level computing cluster, high-speed low-latency network, petabyte-class tiered storage and intelligent operation and maintenance system are well suited to the computing requirements generated by massive agricultural datasets and frequent model iterations.

The Baiyupao Psychiatric Hospital in provincial capital Harbin is Heilongjiang's first facility to roll out AI-enabled psychiatric healthcare. Its in-hospital digital platform is built on a product ecosystem developed by China Telecom, with the "Xingchen" large language model as its foundation and the TeleAgent intelligent agent platform at its core.

TeleAgent has customized AI functions for psychiatric operations and patient follow-ups, and is deployed to ensure the privacy of medical records. Its modular architecture allows for replication in grassroots hospitals.

Sun Zhongping, director of the hospital information department, explained that previously, operational analysis required one or two staff members for at least two working days. Now, the AI system can generate a comprehensive report within 10 minutes, automatically flagging data anomalies and analyzing operational trends.

Furthermore, the AI follow-up system will establish five standardized follow-up nodes for discharged patients, increasing the patient follow-up coverage rate to over 95 percent.
