The 2024 World Internet Conference (WIC), themed "Embracing a People-Centered and AI-for-Good Digital Future - Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace", was held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province in east China, from November 19 to 22.

Focusing on AI, the signature event of the 2024 Wuzhen Summit was the "Light of Internet" Expo with three major sections: algorithm models, data computing power, and application scenarios, highlighting the core technologies and popular applications of AI.

AI tools were also used to improve services for participants and visitors.

The "Straight to Wuzhen" Global Internet Competition, in its sixth year, introduced a special AI competition to highlight innovative applications.

The WIC has established a permanent branch, the WIC Specialized Committee on Artificial Intelligence, to promote AI technology and international cooperation in AI.

Apart from AI innovation and governance, the sub-forums of the summit discussed digital cooperation under the Global Development Initiative, digital and green development, open-source, data governance and rule of law in cyberspace.

They also brainstormed on cultural exchange, digital education, youth and digital future, cybersecurity, and international collaboration.

The WIC Wuzhen Summit, held annually since 2014, provides a collaborative platform to advance high-quality development in cyberspace and global unity in addressing digital challenges.
