China's IP Protection Defines Innovation Landscape
In 2025, an impressive 972,000 new invention patents were granted in China, making the country the first in the world to have over five million valid invention patents.
Currently, China holds approximately 60 percent of global AI patents and about two-thirds of robot-related patents. From the leading performance of general models such as DeepSeek to autonomous navigation robots surpassing the world record for men's half-marathon, the vigorous development of AI is underpinned by strong intellectual property (IP) protection.
Travel And Tour World website called China surpassing five million valid invention patents a historic milestone demonstrating its leadership in technological innovation and IP protection. As China continues to bolster its global IP dominance, it will play an even more crucial role in shaping the future of global technology and intellectual property standards. The world is watching closely as China's patent ecosystem redefines what it means to be an innovation powerhouse in the 21st century.
