China Tops in Offshore Wind Power

China built and connected 39.1 million kilowatts of offshore wind power to its national grid by the third quarter of 2024, ranking first globally. China has formed relatively complete technological and industrial chains of offshore wind power, covering design, manufacturing, construction, operations and maintenance.

Shenzhou-19 Crew Receive Supplies from Earth

China's Shenzhou-19 crew aboard the orbiting Tiangong space station received supplies from Earth on November 16, after the Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft successfully docked with the space station.  Tianzhou-8 was launched on November 15 night and about three hours later,  docked with the space station.

China-Russia East-route Natural Gas Pipeline Completed

Construction of the China-Russia east-route natural gas pipeline, a vital energy corridor for China, has been completed and the facility is in its final commissioning phase. Once fully operational, the pipeline will supply 38 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year to Northeast China, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and the Yangtze River Delta.

Fossil Teeth Throw Light on Evolution

A research team of scientists from the University of Zurich (Switzerland), the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (Grenoble, France), and the Georgian National Museum (Georgia), used synchrotron imaging to study the dental development of a near-adult fossil of an early Homo from the Dmanisi site in Georgia, dated around 1.77 million years ago. Their study offers hints into the evolution of the extended period of growth in humans.
